DescriptionA black-and-white full-length action photograph of Jimmie Foxx fielding a ball. Foxx, facing the camera, wears a Boston Red Sox Spring training uniform. Captured mid-jump, having just caught the ball, Foxx is shown in the air. While jumping, Foxx extends his right arm out to his side shoulder height, his left arm extends overhead. Visible in the glove, worn on his right hand, is the ball he has successfully caught. The included background indicates that this image as not captured in a professional stadium. Based on the background, and the specific design of the uniform worn by Foxx, one that features solid colored socks, this image was most probably taken during Spring training for the 1936 season. Stamped on the reverse (not shown), in purple ink, is the date, "MAR 101936."
