Juan Pierre World Series Autographed shoes

Date2002 October 18-25
DescriptionBlack leather and nylon shoes, size 10 1/2, with a silver manufacturer logo on the inner and outer sides of both shoes. Each shoe has black laces and the tongue of each shoe has "Vapor" imprinted at the top with a silver "M" logo underneath. Underside of the tongues have a tag with "Made in China / US 10.5 / 9 Spike Lite Vapor Low." Soles of each shoe are silver and black rubber with six metal spikes on the bottom of the toe area and four rubber cleats on the bottom of the heel area. Each heel area has "Mizuno" embroidered in white with a manufacturer logo. The toe tip of each shoe has "9 Spike" imprinted. There is a handwritten signature in silver marker on the outer toe portion of each shoe box.
Bio/Historical NoteCenter fielder and leadoff hitter Juan Pierre wore these cleats during the 2003 World Series from October 18th through October 25th when he led the club with a .481 on-base percentage and tied for the team lead in hits (7) and RBI (3). The Florida Marlins defeated the New York Yankees in six games, 4-2. This was the Marlins' second World Series championship win and their first since 1997. These particular shoes are considered "cross-overs" because of the unique combination of metal and rubber cleats can be used on both natural and artificial turf.
