DescriptionBrown leather left-handed fielder's glove with four finger stalls and one thumb stall. Webbing between the thumb and forefinger stalls consists of three pieces of horizontal leather with a Y-shaped vertical piece in the center. Laces attach the four finger stalls together along the top edge. Palm side of the glove has black stamps, including "Grip-Tite Pocket® / Force 2 / Wilson / A9851." Bottom edge of the palm side has laces and grommets. Back side of the glove has "Jimmy Carter" handwritten ink black ink along the length of the forefinger stall. "Select American Cowhide" is stamped in black on the pinky stall. "Hold Tite Strap® / Taiwan" is stamped in black on the base of the outer edge of the glove. Wrist strap has a leather strap with "Wilson" stamped along its length which hooks into a metal loop and fastens with a hook-and-loop closure. Base of the thumb stall has a circular yellow and black fabric "W" logo. "Nylon Stitched" is stamped in black along the length of the thumb stall.
Bio/Historical NoteYears after leaving the White House, former President Jimmy Carter used this glove while pitching softball during the annual Peanut Festival in his hometown of Plains, Georgia.
