DescriptionA black-and-white portrait photograph of Grover Cleveland Alexander. Shown from the chest up, Alexander wears a St. Louis Cardinals road jersey and cap. He directs his gaze to a point to the right of the camera. Based on the specific design of the uniform worn by Alexander, this photograph was taken between 1926 and 1929, with the exception of 1927. Pasted on the reverse (not shown), a caption reads, "ST. LOUIS CARDS PHOTO SHOWS GROVER -ANDER VETERAN PITCHER OF THE ST -LOUIS (..) 9-26."
