DescriptionA full-length black-and-white photograph of Roger Bresnahan fielding. Facing the camera, Bresnahan wears a Toledo Iron Men uniform. Standing with feet apart, Bresnahan leans forward, extending both hands in front of his body, waist height. Bresnahan wears a mitt on his left hand. Looking forward, Bresnahan directs his gaze to a point to the right of the camera. Captured on the field, a fence is visible in the background behind Bresnahan. Portions of Bresnahan's uniform have been outlined to appear more legible for publication. The markings seen above Bresnahan's head, and in the lower right of the image, are not original and indicate where this image is to be cropped for publication. Based on both the style of uniform worn by Bresnahan, and his career with the Iron Men, this image was captured between 1916 and 1918, the period during which he served as both owner and player-manager of this club.
