DescriptionA 3/4 length black-and-white photograph of Roger Bresnahan standing by a jail cell. Facing the camera, shown from the knees up, Bresnahan wears dress pants, dress shirt, a vest and tie. Looking forward, Bresnahan directs his gaze to a point to the right of the camera. Bresnahan stands with both arms down by his sides. Visible to the right of Bresnahan is a jail cell, with the door partially open. Pasted on the reverse (not shown), typed in black ink, is a caption that reads, "FORMER BASEBALL STAR GIVEN JOB AT WORKHOUSE ROGER BRESNAHAN ,ONE OF BASEBALL'S GREATEST CATCHERS AND FORMER OWNER OF THE TOLEDO , 0 . ,MUD HENS ,WAS CONFIRMED THE OTHER DAY BY THE CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION AS TURNKEY AT THE MUNICIPAL WORKHOUSE AT TOLEDO. THE SALARY IS $100 A MONTH. 10/20/32."
