DescriptionA black-and-white full-length photograph of Fred Clarke and Babe Adams standing in uniform. Facing the camera, standing with feet apart, both men wear Pittsburgh Pirates home uniforms. Clarke, right, standing with hands on hips, turns his head to his left to look at a point in the distance and to the right of the camera. Adams, left, with arms clasped behind his back, looks forward, establishing eye contact with the camera. Both the foreground and background of the image have been painted and are not original to the photograph. Several facial features and portions of the uniforms worn by both men have been modified to appear more legible upon publication. Based on the specific design of the uniform worn by the players, and the circular patch visible on the left sleeve of the jersey, this image was captured in 1925. During this year all National League teams wore "National League Golden Jubilee" patches to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the creation of the league.
