Foxx, facing the camera, wears a leather letterman-style jacket, featuring the Philadelphia Athletics white elephant logo, over his Athletics uniform. Looking forward, establishing eye contact with the camera, Foxx holds the award, with one hand on each handle, waist height in front of his body. Visible in the background are several other players, also in uniform. Pasted on the reverse (not shown), typed in purple ink, is a caption that reads, "STILL A VALUABLE GUY NEW YORK CITY: SHOWN WITH THE MOST VALUABLE PLAYER AWARD HE RECEIVES AFTER THE APRIL 20TH GAME OF 1933, JIMMY FOXX, A MEMBER OF THE BASEBALL HALL OF FAME, IS TODAY A VALUABLE MEMBER OF SOCIETY, WITH NOBLE IDEAS PUT INTO ACTION ON HOW TO PREVENT POTENTIAL JUVENILE DELINQUENCY.
