Nap Lajoie Batting photograph

Date1903 or 1904
DescriptionA black-and-white photograph of Napoleon "Nap" Lajoie batting. Lajoie stands in a right-handed stance with his feet spread slightly more than shoulder-width apart. Lajoie's back right foot is leaning slightly forward ready to move back to accept the majority of his weight. Lajoie's arms are chest level and ready to take a swing with the bat in his hands. Lajoie wears an away Cleveland Naps uniform, and based on the uniform details, this photograph was taken in 1903 or 1904. In the background is a blurry fence from an unidentified location. A person has written "X"'s around Lajoie and etched black and white lines around his body to make him stand out against the background. Near his cap and mouth are splotches of black to further make him stand out from the background.
