Tris Speaker, Connie Mack, and Ty Cobb photograph

Date1954 January 25
DescriptionA black-and-white portrait photograph of Tris Speaker, Connie Mack, and Ty Cobb seated, posed for the photograph. Speaker, shown far left, wears a double-breasted suit and tie. Pictured from the waist up, Speaker sits on the right arm of the chair occupied by Mack. Speaker rests with his back left arm on the back of Mack's chair, while resting his right hand on his right leg. Speaker leans to his left, in towards Mack, who is seated below him. Speaker, with head slightly turned to his left smiles and looks back to a point to the left of the camera. Mack, seated in a chair between Speaker and Cobb wears a black tuxedo. Mack, shown from the waist up, faces front, sitting with both hands clasped, resting on his lap. Mack looks to a point above and to the right of the camera. Cobb, shown far right, kneels on the ground to the right of the chair that Mack sits in. Pictured from the waist up wearing a suit and tie, Cobb rests his right arm on the back of Mack's chair while placing his right hand on the left arm of Mack's chair. Cobb, also angled in towards Mack, looks, with mouth slightly open, to a point above and to the left of the camera. All three men wear an inscribed ribbon pinned to right lapel of their suits. A flag in the background behind Cobb and the presence of a plant behind Speaker indicate that this photograph was captured indoors. Pasted on the reverse (not shown), typed in purple ink, is a caption that reads, "NAP 1 7 . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
