Nellie Fox and Billy Pierce photograph

Date1951 or 1952
DescriptionA black-and-white photograph of Nellie Fox and Billy Pierce having a conversation. Pierce is captured sitting on top of a desk, leaning in towards Fox with a grin on his face. Fox is captured sitting in a chair grinning while holding a deck of cards in his right hand. The caption on the back of the photograph (not shown) states, "Southpaw Bill Pierce, left, and Nellie Fox of the White Sox, who hold a 3-1 edge over the world champs, are feeling no pain as they ponder how to keep advantage. Pierce is off to a brisk start with a 5-1 mound record which shows one win over the Stadium gang. As for Fox, he's one of the classiest second basemen in the AL." Based on the caption and their time together on the White Sox, this photograph was taken in either 1951 or 1952.
