DescriptionA black-and-white sequence photograph of Sandy Koufax captured on the pitcher's mound as he winds up and releases his pitch. In the first sequence on the left Koufax has a strained expression on his face as he brings his left arm up and the baseball starts to leave his finger tips. His right leg is out in front of him and his left leg is bent behind him. In the second sequence on the right Koufax is bent down and his left arm is extended out in front of him. He feet are wide apart. Koufax is dressed in the Los Angeles Dodgers road uniform. A newspaper clipping is affixed to the front of the photograph and states, "Sandy Koufax, the Los Angeles Dodgers' superb southpaw, shows baseball's winningest pitcher with a 19-5 record so far this...20-win circle this week, Koufax has ten shutouts to his...227 innings." Based on Koufax's uniform and his time as a pitcher with the Dodgers this photograph was taken between 1958 and 1966.
