DescriptionA black-and-white photograph of Los Angeles Dodgers' pitcher, Sandy Koufax, captured after releasing his pitch during the 1965 World Series against the Minnesota Twins. Koufax has a shocked expression on his face after releasing his pitch. He is bent down low with his left arm crossing in front of him and his legs planted wide apart on the pitcher's mound. Koufax is dressed in the Los Angeles Dodgers uniform but it is indistinguishable if it is a home or road uniform. A newspaper clipping is affixed to the front of the photograph and states, "The Los Angeles Herald-Examiner says southpaw Sandy Koufax (shown pitching against Twins in '65 World Series) will announce his retirement from baseball 11/18. Koufax has been troubled with arthritic pains in his pitching arm." Based on the newspaper clipping this photograph was taken in 1965 World Series when Los Angeles Dodgers defeated the Minnesota Twins.
