Pepper Martin World Series glove

DescriptionDark brown leather left-handed fielder's glove with four finger stalls and a thumb stall. The forefinger stall and the thumb stall are connected by leather laces looped through metal grommets on either stall. Back side of glove has an opening at the base of the finger stalls with. Wrist strap has a fabric label, "Bill Doak Glove / Patented Aug. 22nd, Nov. 21st, 1922 / None Genuine Without This Label / Rawlings." There is also a metal button securing this wrist strap with "Rawlings" embossed on the head. Wrist strap has two buttonholes for size adjustment.
Bio/Historical NoteGlove used by Pepper Martin of the St. Louis Cardinals during the 1931 World Series. The Cardinals beat the Philadelphia Athletics in seven games to win the Series.
