Bobby Doerr glove

DescriptionDark brown leather left-handed fielder's glove with four finger stalls and a thumb stall with a piece of leather connecting the forefinger and thumb stalls as webbing. Webbing is connected by leather laces looped through metal grommets lining both stalls. Forefinger and middle stalls are connected by a leather lace at the top. Back side has an opening at the base of the finger stalls with a wrist strap having two buttonholes and a metal button for fastening. There is a darkened "Rawlings" manufacturer label on the wrist strap opposite the button. Top of the button has "Rawlings" in raised lettering.

Bio/Historical NoteGlove worn by Bobby Doerr during the 1948 season with the Boston Red Sox when he set a then-record 73 games and 414 chances without an error at second base.
