DescriptionLeather left-handed glove, now bronzed and rigid, with four finger stalls, a thumb stall and a piece of leather between the forefinger and thumb stalls as webbing. Finger stalls are connected by laces at the fingertips. "Cleveland / vs. Detroit / June 30, 1948 / No Hit - No Run Game" is handwritten in black ink along the palm side of the thumb stall. Base of the palm side is lined with grommets and laces. Back side of the glove has an opening at the base of the finger stalls with a wrist strap fastened with a button. Wrist strap has two buttonholes and the button is through the buttonhole at the farthest end of the strap. There is a manufacturer sticker on the right side of the wrist strap.
Bio/Historical NoteOn June 30, 1948, Cleveland's Bob Lemon wore this glove when he no-hit the Detroit Tigers, 2-0, as the Indians advanced towards a World Championship. Lemon later had the glove bronzed, a practice seldom seen today.
