Jimmie Crutchfield glove

DescriptionDark brown leather left-handed glove with four finger stalls and a thumb stall. There are horizontal and vertical pieces of leather connected by leather laces looped through metal grommets lining the sides of the forefinger and thumb stalls as webbing. Palm side bottom edge is lined with metal grommets and leather laces. There is a "Goldsmith DW / Elmer Riddle" trademark. Back side has an opening at the base of the finger stalls with a wrist strap having two buttonholes and a metal button for fastening.

Bio/Historical NoteGlove belonging to outfielder Jimmie Crutchfield, who played for such teams as the Pittsburgh Crawfords and Newark Eagles during a career that lasted from 1930 to 1945.
