DescriptionSterling silver trophy bat, 31.5 ounces, with a decorative engraved portion near the end of the barrel, "Edward H. Zwilling / Center Fielder Chgo [Chicago] Federal League Base Ball Club / Batting Average 308 - 1914 Season." Around this engraved lettering is an etched floral and leaf pattern.
Bio/Historical NoteIn 1914, Dutch Zwilling earned this etched and engraved silver trophy bat for attaining the highest batting average on the Chicago club in the short-lived Federal League. Zwilling also showed power over the league"u2019s two seasons, leading the circuit with 29 total homers from 1914 to 1915.
