Ivan Rodriguez chest protector

DescriptionWilson Model 3200 red nylon padded and ribbed catcher's chest protector bound in black with a black and gold manufacturer label just below the proper left shoulder. Bottom of the neck area has extra foam padding. Black leather tabs hold the harness in place at the sides and shoulders. Reverse is all black nylon padded ribbing with a piece of woven nylon loop at the right arm hole. Black elastic harness straps form an L -shape across the back. Two leather patches are at the intersections and the top patch is embroidered with a gold "W." Straps are attached to sides of the protector with a D-ring and a hook.

Bio/Historical NoteChest protector worn by Texas Rangers' catcher Ivan Rodriguez during the 1997 season and the beginning of the 1998 season. Entering the 1998 season, Rodriguez had won six consecutive Gold Glove Awards.
