DescriptionA black-and-white full-length photograph of Tony Gwynn on base. Shown in 3/4 profile, Gwynn wears a San Diego Padres home uniform, helmet, and batting gloves. Standing with feet apart, Gwynn leans forward, resting both hands on each knee. Gwynn turns his head to his left, directing his gaze to a point in the distance and to the left of the camera. Visible in the far left of the photograph is a teammate standing behind Gwynn. Captured in-game, an occupied stadium can be seen in the background. Based on the specific design of the uniform worn by Gwynn, a pinstripe uniform that lacks piping, this image dates from 1985, when San Diego introduced pinstripe uniforms, and 1994, when they added piping to the jersey.
