Tony Gwynn Running photograph
Date1985 or 1986
DescriptionA black-and-white full-length action photograph of Tony Gwynn running. Gwynn, facing the camera, wears a San Diego Padres home uniform, batting gloves, and helmet. Captured in the air, Gwynn's straight, front right leg and his left leg, that is bent at the knee, are both off the ground. While looking forward and down, to a point to the right of the camera, Gwynn holds both bent arms waist height on either side of his body. Based on the specific style of the uniform worn by Gwynn, this image was captured during the 1985 or 1986 season, the two years that San Diego wore pinstripe uniforms with commemorative 'RAK' patches on the left sleeve, in memory of their former team owner, Ray Kroc.
