Dizzy Dean painted glove

DescriptionBrown leather left-handed glove painted with images related to Dizzy Dean. The glove has four finger stalls, a thumb stall, and a strap of leather and two lengths of leather cord connecting the forefinger and thumb stalls as webbing. Palm side bottom edge is lined with metal grommets and leather laces. Across the thumb and base of first two finger stalls is a banner reading "Jay Hanna / 'Dizzy' Dean / 1910-1974." Above the banner is "Hall of Famer." Beneath the banner is "Cardinals / 1930 - 1932-37" - "Cubs / 1938-41" - "Browns / 1947." To the right of this is a painted portrait of Dizzy Dean in a white and red baseball jersey and cap. It's captioned "World Champs St.L 1934 N.L. MVP." Across the pinky finger stall is "All- / Star / 1934-1937 / 30-Game / Winner / 1934 / Strikeout / Leader / 1932- / 1935." Back side has an opening at the base of the finger stalls with a wrist strap with a single buttonhole and a metal button for fastening. There is a red manufacturer label in the center of the wrist strap. Artist made a sturdy insert to sit within the glove to support the artwork.
