DescriptionA black-and-white photograph of Nellie Fox, center, Harvey Kuenn bracing for a fall after releasing his throw and Fred Hatfield backing up the play behind second base. Fox is dressed in a Chicago White Sox road uniform, where as Kuenn and Hatfield are dressed in Detroit Tigers home uniforms. The caption on the back of the photograph (not shown) states, "Nellie Fox, of White Sox, is forced out at second in second inning yesterday, at Detroit, Ned Garver to Harvey Kuenn. Kuenn's relay to first was too late for double play on batter, Jim Rivera." Based on Fox, Kuenn and Hatfield's uniforms , a date stamp on the reverse (not shown), and their time with their respective teams, this photograph was probably taken in 1955.
