DescriptionA black-and-white full-length photograph of Jimmie Foxx sitting on a 3-rail fence, holding the results of his hunt. Foxx, facing the camera, wears boots, casual pants and dress shirt, a jacket, and a cap. Looking forward, smiling, Foxx establishes eye contact with the camera. Holding a double barrel rifle against his right side, with his right arm, Foxx rests his right and left hand on each respective knee. Posed for the photograph, Foxx holds in his right hand two hares, and in his left, two pheasants. Pasted on the reverse (not shown), a caption, typed in purple ink, reads,"'BRINGING HOME THE BACON" THE HUNTING SEASON FOR SMALL GAME, OPENED IN PENNSYLVANIA ON NOVEMBER 1ST WITH THE BREAK OF DAWN, AND FIRST AMONGST THE CROP OF NIMRODS WERE MICKEY COCHRANE AND JIMMY FOXX, STAR BALLPLAYERS OF THE PHILADELPHIA ATHLETICS, WHO DID THEIR GUNNING AT HADDSFORD, PA. HERE IS JIMMY FOXX PROUDLY DISPLAYING A COUPLE OF FINE PHEASANTS HE SHOT. 11/1/33." Stamped on the reverse (not shown), in blue ink, is the phrase, "RECEIVED NOV 2 1933."
