Neal Ball Unassisted Triple Play glove

DescriptionDark brown leather left-handed fielder's glove with four finger stalls and one thumb stall. There is a solid piece of leather between the thumb and forefinger stalls as webbing. Back side of the glove has an opening around the knuckle area. The wrist strap has a metal button for closure and two buttonholes for size adjustment. There is a faded fabric manufacturer label on the wrist strap with "Spalding" barely visible.
Bio/Historical NoteGlove used by Cleveland Naps shortstop Neal Ball to make the first unassisted triple play in baseball history on July 19, 1909. With no outs in the top of the second and Red Sox runners on first and second, Ball snared a line drive with this glove, stepped on second base for out number two, and tagged the runner coming from first to retire the side.
