DescriptionA black-and-white photograph of Los Angeles Dodgers' pitcher, Sandy Koufax, captured as he walks out onto the baseball field at Yankee Stadium on October 1, 1963. Koufax is looking up with a straight face. Koufax is dressed in the Los Angeles Dodgers road uniform. An unidentified baseball player is visible in the background. A newspaper clipping is affixed to the back of the photograph and states, "Sandy Koufax." A second newspaper clipping is affixed to the back of the photograph and states, "Sandy Koufax, the ace of the Dodger staff, scans the skies over Yankee Stadium Oct. 1 during a workout. Koufax will pitch against Whitey Ford and the New York Yankees in the opening game of the 1963 World Series Oct. 2." Based on the newspaper clipping this photograph was taken on October 1, 1963.
