DescriptionA black-and-white photograph of Los Angeles Dodgers Sandy Koufax captured practicing his pitching. Koufax is standing slight bent down with his left leg lifted up in the air and his left arm crossed in front of his body. Koufax is looking straight ahead with a serious expression on his face. He is dressed in the Los Angeles Dodgers uniform but it is indistinguishable if it is a home or road uniform. A baseball is visible in the air. An unidentified baseball player is visible in the background. A newspaper clipping is affixed to the front of the photograph on the side and states, "Sandy Koufax of the Los Angeles Dodgers presents this look to a batter as the ball comes streaking in, usually for the strike. Koufax 306 strikeouts last year set a new National League record. He won 25 games, had an E.R.A. of 1.88 to lead the majors. This camera angle, through the screen, was made as Koufax pitched 25 minutes of batting practice as part of his spring training program." Based on Koufax's uniform and his time with the Dodgers this photograph was taken between 1958 and 1966.
