DescriptionA black-and-white photograph of Sandy Koufax, left, and Frank O'Neill, physical therapist, right, captured icing Koufax's injuring. Koufax is looking out of the corner of his eyes with a straight face. O'Neill has a small smile on his face. A newspaper clipping is affixed to the front of the photograph and states, "Physical therapist Frank O'Neill works on arm of L.A. Dodgers pitcher Sandy Koufax 4/23 in office of team physician Dr. Robert Kerlan. Koufax was taken off the pitcher's mound after a single inning in St. Louis 4/22 because of an elbow injury. It will take 48 hours before they know what the score is, but the doctor doesn't think it's too serious." A newspaper clipping is affixed to the back of the photograph and states, "Dodger pitcher Sandy Koufax had physical therapist Frank O'Neill working on his arm in the office of team physician Dr. Robert Kerlan yesterday." Based on the newspaper clipping this photograph was taken on April 23, 1964.
