DescriptionA black-and-white photograph, from left to right, of Al Campanis, Sandy Koufax and Fresco Thompson captured standing arm in arm with large smiles on their faces. Both Campanis and Thompson are dressed in suits. Koufax is dressed in the Brooklyn Dodgers road uniform. Koufax is holding a baseball in his left hand. A newspaper clipping is affixed to the back of the photograph and states, "Al Campanis of the Dodger organization with Sandy Koufax, when the lefty was brand new, in 1954. Note names of Loes, Milliken, Roebuck and Black on club blackboard." Another newspaper clipping is affixed to the back of the photograph and states, "Al Campanis Dodger Scout...Sandy Koufax and Fresco Thompson at Dodger offices today. Koufax, left handed bonus rookie pitcher now attending the University of Cincinnati, is home for the holidays and tried on the uniform he'll wear March 1 at Vero Beach training camp." Based on the newspaper clipping this photograph was taken in approximately 1954.
