DescriptionBlack leather right-handed first baseman's mitt with one stall for the fingers and one stall for the thumb. There are two vertical and two horizontal pieces of leather as webbing connecting the two stalls. Lighter brown leather laces line the perimeter edge of the mitt and the top edge of the webbing. There are two yellow and black "Franklin" manufacturer labels on the back of the mitt along with "Model #9501" and "The Backhander" on the back side of the thumb stall in silver lettering. Wrist strap is adjustable with a leather thong and buckle. "Handcrafted in Korea KM" is stamped on the wristband in silver lettering.
Bio/Historical NoteYankees first baseman Don Mattingly used this mitt during a career that included nine Gold Gloves, six All-Star berths, and the 1985 AL MVP Award.
