DescriptionA black-and-white portrait photograph of Burleigh Grimes. Grimes, shown from the chest up, wears a St. Louis Cardinals jersey and baseball cap. Facing the camera, Grimes looks forward, establishing eye contact. The background surrounding Grimes' face has been painted grey and an orange frame has been draw around this area. Both exist as modifications made for publication. Pasted on the reverse (not shown), a caption, typed in black ink, reads, "ST. LOUIS,MO. . . . .BURLEIGH GRIMES, PITCHER OF THE ST. LOUIS CARDINALS. 9-31."
