DescriptionA black-and-white 3/4 length photograph of Burleigh Grimes and Eddie Dyer. Grimes, left, facing the camera, wears a three piece suit and tie. Shown from the knees up, sitting in a chair, Grimes rests both his right and left arm on the arms of the chair. In his left hand he holds a pipe. Grimes looks down and to his left at a piece of paper held by Dyer. Dyer, right, facing the camera, is also shown from the knees up. Wearing a suit and tie, Dyer stands behind Grimes's chair. In his right hand Dyer holds a piece of paper, with his left index finger he points to this document. Dyer rests his right arm on Grimes' left shoulder while looking down to the paper, smiling. Pasted on the reverse (not shown), a published newspaper clipping of this image with a caption, typed in black ink, reads, "Red Wing Skipper Burleigh Grimes (left) and St. Louis Cardinals' new pilot, Eddy Dyer, onetime Wing boss, huddle at Columbus parley and plan for player disposition to Roch-ester team in rebuilding program for next loop season." Stamped on this clipping on the reverse (not shown), in purple ink, is the date, "DEC 9-1945." Grimes managed the Rochester for the 1945 and 1946 seasons.
