DescriptionA black-and-white full-length posed photograph of Jimmie Foxx batting. Foxx, facing the camera, wears a Chicago Cubs road uniform. Posed in his follow through position, Foxx looks forward, directing his gaze to a point in the distance and to the left of the camera. Support his weight between his slightly bent, front left leg, and his straight, back right leg, Foxx adopts a modified lunge position. With both feet turned inwards, Foxx rests only the toe of his right cleat on the ground. In gripping the bat, Foxx places his right hand over left, holding the bat shoulder height on his left side, angling it back behind his left shoulder. Visible in the background is a partially occupied stadium. Stamped on the reverse (not shown), in purple ink, is the phrase, "RECEIVED JUL 30 1942." Stamped as well on the reverse (not shown), in blue ink, is the phrase, "PHOTO BY WM. C. GREENE."
