DescriptionA black-and-white half-length portrait photograph of Tris Speaker. Speaker, shown from the waist up, wears a Washington Senators uniform. Seated, Speaker rests his left elbow on his left knee. Looking forward, he establishing eye contact with the camera. The shadows across the subject's face indicates that this image was captured out of doors. Stamped on the reverse (not shown), in black ink, is the phrase, "RECEIVED MAR - 1927." In comparison with other images taken during the same period, Speaker most probably wears a Spring training uniform.
