Pete Gray glove

DescriptionDark brown leather left-handed fielder's glove with four finger stalls, a thumb stall and fabric lacing looped through metal grommets connecting the forefinger and thumb stalls as webbing. Palm side heel edge is lined with metal grommets and leather laces. Pocket of the glove has been repaired with an extra piece of leather. There are no legible manufacturer markings. Leather has been patched several times on the pocket area. Back side of the glove has a wrist strap with a metal buckle.

Bio/Historical NoteDespite the loss of most of his right arm in a childhood accident, Pete Gray excelled at baseball, ultimately playing big league ball with the St. Louis Browns in 1945.
