Warren Giles Rochester Red Wings trophy

DescriptionSterling silver trophy ball mounted atop four silver crossed baseball bats, two in the front and two in the back. Ball has raised lettering reading "Presented / to / Warren C. Giles / President / by / Members of the Red Wings / International League / Champions / 1929." At the front center of the ball is a raised emblem depicting a white baseball with red wings. The bats are mounted atop a black wooden tiered octagonal base with silver decorations at each corner. On top of the base is a sterling silver plate with the names of the players, trainer, secretary and managers in raised lettering. There is a small manufacturer stamp on the lower right corner of this plate. Bottom of the base has green felt.
Bio/Historical NoteAfter the 1929 Rochester Red Wings won 103 games to run away with the International League pennant, the team presented this silver desk ornament to club president, and future National League president and Hall of Famer, Warren Giles.
