Bio/Historical NoteTrophy presented to Stan Coveleski by the Polish Boys of Cleveland. To the public, Cleveland's star pitcher from 1916 to 1924 was Stan Coveleski. To the Polish community of Cleveland, he was Kowalewski. Preserving the original spelling reflects the pride with which Cleveland's Polish Americans embraced this son of immigrants.
