Roger Bresnahan Batting photograph

Date1906
DescriptionA sepia toned full-length action photograph of Roger Bresnahan batting. Shown in profile, wearing a New York Giants uniform, Bresnahan is depicted in his follow through position. Supporting his weight between his straight, front left leg, and his bent, back right leg, Bresnahan adopts a modified lunge position. Following the momentum of his swing, Bresnahan rotates his upper body to his left. Placing right hand over left on the grip of the bat, Bresnahan holds the bat waist height, on his left side. Bresnahan looks forward, to a point in the distance and to the right of the camera. Taken on the field, a stadium can be seen in the background. Based on the specific design of the uniform worn by Bresnahan, this image was captured during the 1906 season, the year during which the Giants wore special uniforms commemorating their World Championship win from the previous year.
